Severe trauma, gunshot wounds or stab wounds require immediate medical attention to stop bleeding in the shortest amount of time to prevent loss of life. Many times it is impossible (geographical reasons) or impractical (active shooter scenario) for first responders to arrive in time to stop bleeding from major arteries or other critical areas.
